Whistler Day 7 – More Sun and Butt Rub
Today was another beautiful day in Whistler. The sun was out and the snow at the top of the mountain was still very awesome and fluffy.
It was the first day that we got the chance to ride the Showcase T-bar and hike up into the Blackcomb Glacier. It was truly epic when we got up there. There was tons of fresh pow in the bowl still as it had not opened the day before because of the storm. Some skiers and snowboarders had built a big kicker on the famous wind-lip and were throwing down. We even saw one snowboarder almost stomp a double!
After skiing Blackcomb during the morning we headed over to Whistler for the afternoon. We took Dave Murray Downhill all the way to the Creekside base to have a late lunch at Dusty’s. I had been raving about their wedge fries and butt rub mayo to Pete all trip so he finally got the chance to enjoy them.
For dinner we went to another hot spot in Whistler, the Mongolie Grill. A few of my friends have worked there over the years so I always love to get back there when I’m in town. I had to warn Pete that it wasn’t cheap and you can easily get caught over-loading your bowl as it’s pay by weight. We both behaved and our wallets didn’t suffer too seriously. All the sun and good food during the day made for another early evening!
